I am so excited to share my #1 Money-Saving Hack – especially since it’s the easiest way I’ve found to save money. No clipping coupons. No comparison shopping. No waiting for sales. AND it saves you money every time.
And, if you haven’t used it – you’re going to get $5 just to try it!! (true story)
All you need is 30 seconds and a smart phone.
Raise is my new app obsession. Basically, it’s a market place where you can buy discounted gift cards. When you purchase with a $50 gift card that you bought for $40 – it’s like having your own personal 20% off sale!
http://geta.raise.com/kciociola This link will give you an instant $5 just for signing up!
After you input your email address, they’ll send you a confirmation email. Confirm your email.
You can search by store or browse gift cards on sale. It’s soooo easy. Many of the cards are eVouchers you can use immediately. You can also buy discounted physical gift cards with FREE shipping if you want to buy a gift for someone else. (They don’t need to know that you didn’t spend as much money as the gift card says you did…. Heh heh heh. ⇐That’s my money-saving cackle.)
HOW TO USE RAISE LIKE A ROCKSTAR:
So you’re sitting in line at a store, OR you’re about to check out online. BUT WAIT! You pull up Raise on your smart phone (or download their app). Search for a gift card. Buy it at a discount and BAM! It’s delivered instantly to your Raise Wallet. Show the cashier the number on your gift card and it’s a done deal. You instantly saved money!
Sign up for their newsletter to get additional savings. Last weekend, they sent me a code to save an additional 5% on gift cards. Right now, they have a 1% sale when you use the promo code RAISE1. It’s not much, but it’s FREE MONEY. HOLLER! (⇐This is where I do a totally embarrassing money-saving dance.)
My all-time money saving tip with Raise!
- Wait for a sale at a store,
- Use a Raise Promo code to buy a discounted egift card
- SHOP AWAY!
I did this during Aeropostale’s Big Sale in January and saved 85%!
- I bought $640 worth of clothes. (YIKES, who would pay that?!)
- They were on sale for $192 (Still TOO expensive)
- I used an additional 20% off Aeropostale Promo Code to bring it to $153.60
- Then I bought an Aeropostale gift card on Raise that was $150 for $100
- I used a Raise promo code to get another 5% off and bought $150 gift card for $95!
- So I bought $640 worth of clothes for $95! An 85% savings!!! (And the crowd goes wild!)
-Keep the Raise app right on your home screen. You know you’re going to forget while you’re standing in line that you could be saving big bucks. So when you’re waiting to check out, you’re about to text your Boo and see Raise and check out if they have gift cards available for the store you’re in.
Every time I’ve purchased a card, it’s sent to my email and my Raise wallet instantly (even though it says to give it 24 hours). I show the card code to the cashier and it’s done!
-Set Alerts. If by some crazy fluke, they don’t have a gift card available for the stores you shop at, just click “Set Alert” and they will email you as soon as they get a card to sell.
This works at grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, Amazon, eBay, hardware stores – you name it! Imagine getting a discount every time you buy something. Genius.
-Make Money. You can turn this into an even bigger money maker if you have gift cards lying around that you don’t want. Just post them on Raise and you get paid when they sell. So easy.
